So the first thing that I’m not sure we’ve told you all yet is that Melissa and I have quit our jobs and built a new company: raw signal group. You all know how fired up we get about making management better. You do, too. We felt like it was time for us to do something more about it. (We wrote a manifesto. What do you think?)
One advantage of doing this full time is that we can do more speaking work. I gave this talk a few weeks ago about how to design your organization as you grow. Startups get this wrong a lot, and their employees and investors pay the price. I talk about some examples of what doesn’t work, and why. And then close on some stuff you should be building in to the way your company is run.
It’s a 30-minute talk followed by question and answer. I recommend watching at least the first 2 minutes, if only to enjoy my inability to stay on camera.
